Ben Osborn: The Unwanted Star
Ben Osborn, the 29-year-old midfielder, has found himself without a club after being released by Sheffield United last month. The Yorkshire club announced their retained list, and Osborn was one of the ten players let go. However, his experience in the Premier League has caught the attention of Watford, who are keen to sign him.
Osborn made 24 Premier League appearances for Sheffield United last season
Osborn’s time at Bramall Lane saw him make 230 appearances over five years, and his experience in the top flight is something that Watford believe could be beneficial to their squad. The Hornets are interested in signing Osborn, but they’re not the only ones. Newly promoted Championship outfit Derby County, Osborn’s hometown club, are also in the running to sign the midfielder.

However, Derby County also have other midfield targets on their list, and it’s unclear whether Osborn will be their top priority. Another former Sheffield United player, John Fleck, is also trying to earn a contract in the Championship next season. Fleck is training through the summer in the hopes of winning a deal at Blackburn Rovers.

One thing is for sure, Osborn’s experience and skills will be an asset to any club that signs him. As the summer transfer window continues, we’ll be keeping a close eye on Osborn’s next move.
