During his speech at the Premier League draw ceremony, Abbasov stated that no football competitions will be held in the country during the COP29 event. He also mentioned that the Premier League will take a break due to national team matches, ensuring that the championship remains unaffected.
“This issue has been under discussion since last season. During COP29, matches of the First League, Second League, Reserve League, and the Azerbaijan Cup will not take place. As for the Premier League, there will be a break in the championship due to national team matches. In short, COP29 will have no impact on the Azerbaijan Premier League. All these details will be reflected in the calendar,” Abbasov explained.
