Leicester City’s Premier League Return: A Challenging Road Ahead
Leicester City FC is back in the Premier League, but their journey to stay in the top flight won’t be easy. After a successful campaign in the Championship, the Foxes are gearing up for a tough season ahead. Former Leicester City player Alan Smith believes that Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard aren’t good enough to play in the Premier League, and it’s hard to disagree.

The Foxes will need to strengthen their squad to ensure they remain in the division next season. With Kelechi Iheanacho set to depart and Jamie Vardy not getting any younger, Leicester will likely be looking for a new striker. Patson Daka hasn’t lived up to expectations, and the team needs a reliable goal-scorer.
“Leicester need to add a few players to the squad that are of Premier League quality,” Smith told Prime Casino. “At the back, when you look at Vestergaard and Wout Faes, you don’t see that as a double act that’s going to be good enough in the Premier League.”
Smith added that Leicester need to be clever in the transfer market and that Jamie Vardy could do a job as an impact substitute. The veteran striker still has a lot to offer, and his experience could be invaluable in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Ben Godfrey has left Everton to sign for Serie A club and Europa League champions Atalanta for a reported fee in excess of €10million. Godfrey, a versatile defender capable of playing at centre-back or full-back, impressed in his first season at Goodison Park under Carlo Ancelotti. His departure is a significant blow to Everton, who will need to find a suitable replacement.

In other transfer news, Chelsea has shown further interest in signing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. The Blues are keen to add a proven Premier League goalscorer to their ranks, and Isak fits the bill. Newcastle, however, would be looking for over £100m to consider selling their star striker.
