Racing United: Striving for Premier League Glory

Racing United, the formidable team from Portmore, St Catherine, is once again dominating the Jamaica Football Championship (JFC) with an impressive lead of 40 points. This season, they are determined to secure their spot in the prestigious Jamaica Premier League (JPL) after narrowly missing out last year.

Coach Anthony Patrick remains optimistic about their chances, citing a stronger squad and improved fitness levels compared to the previous season. Despite setbacks due to injuries, Racing United is gearing up for a successful campaign.

“Last season was a learning curve for us. We faced challenges, but we have emerged stronger and more prepared this time around,” expressed Patrick.

Overcoming Adversity

The team faced adversity last season, with key players sidelined due to injuries. Captain Markovic Brown and top scorer Raheem Edwards have been working hard to regain full fitness and make impactful contributions on the field.

“We have a deep pool of talent this season, with players returning from injuries and eager to prove themselves. The recent defeat to Reno was a minor setback, but we are focused on the bigger picture,” Patrick emphasized.

Looking Ahead

As Racing United prepares to face Chapelton Maroons in their upcoming fixture, Patrick emphasized the team’s singular objective - securing a spot in the league and attracting corporate sponsors.

“Our goal is not just to participate but to establish ourselves in the league. We have the quality and determination to make an impact,” stated Patrick.

With the team’s morale high and a renewed sense of purpose, Racing United is poised for a strong finish to the season.
