Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024: A Season of Thrills Ahead
The eighth edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is just around the corner, and cricket enthusiasts in the state are in for a treat. This year’s tournament promises to be an exciting one, with eight teams battling it out across five venues in Tamil Nadu.
The Road to Glory
The tournament will kick off on July 5 and conclude on August 4, with matches being played in Salem, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Dindigul, and Chennai. The first leg will be held in Salem from July 5 to 11, followed by the second leg in Coimbatore from July 13 to 18. The third leg will take place in Tirunelveli from July 20 to 24, and the final leg will be held in Dindigul from July 26 to 28.
The stage is set for an epic battle
The playoffs, including Qualifier 1 and Eliminator, are scheduled to take place on July 30 and 31, respectively, in Dindigul. The Qualifier 2 will be held on August 2, and the Final will take place on August 4 in Chennai, marking a comeback to the venue after a two-year hiatus.
A Season of Firsts
This season will feature seven double-headers, and all playoff matches will have a reserve day in the event of rain disrupting play. Most matches are scheduled to commence at 7:15 pm under floodlights, while afternoon fixtures will begin at 3:15 pm.

The eight teams participating in the competition are Chepauk Super Gillies, Dindigul Dragons, iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Nellai Royal Kings, Lyca Kovai Kings, Siechem Madurai Panthers, SKM Salem Spartans, and Trichy Grand Cholas.
